Disneyland Re-Opening to Arizonans

By Amy Tryon- Publisher of Macaroni Kid South Phoenix and Glendale May 27, 2021

It's the news that so many of us have been waiting for! The Disneyland Resort is finally opening up to those who live outside California. Here are the details:

When: Starting June 15th
Tickets: You can now book up to 120 days in advance. Reservations will go fast so don't wait until the last minute. You must purchase a ticket AND make a reservation through their online reservation system to be allowed in. A ticket alone will not get you into the parks.
Safety precautions: Masks are required for everyone 2 and older. There will be physical distancing as well. Disneyland has specific areas reserved for eating where you can take of your mask and have a snack. Don't worry... you can still have a churro. You just can't eat it on the go. Take a break and rest your feet while you eat your treat. Capacity at the park is limited to comply with government requirements. Once out of state visitors are allowed, they will no longer be doing temperature checks before entry. Just as a common courtesy, if you have any illness symptoms please put off your visit.
While many food options are available, as of right now, most are requiring online ordering. Be prepared with your Disneyland app downloaded. It's really easy to browse through what they offer, order your meal and then go pick it up. I did this a couple years ago, before the pandemic. I thought it was great because I didn't have to stand in a line. I just waited until the app told me my order was ready for pick up. I'm sure mobile ordering is a lot busier right now since it's the main mode of obtaining food so just remember to be patient. If you have no access to a phone or ability to use the app, see a cast member. They are always really helpful. I believe some locations have mobile order kiosks.

Avengers Campus opens June 4, 2021

The newest addition to California Adventures at the Disneyland Resort is Avengers Campus. It's a land that revolves around the characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will be opening with one major attraction called WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure which will use a virtual queue similar to the one currently used for Rise of the Resistance. Guests will have to use the Disneyland Mobile app to try to reserve a ride time. Reservations open at 7AM and again at Noon. Other attractions include the Ancient Sanctum where you can meet Dr. Strange, Avengers Headquarters where you can meet other heroes, Pym Test Kitchen which is a restaurant and attraction all in one, stores, and other food options. When you make your reservation for the park you are automatically able to enter Avengers Campus. No additional reservations need made unless you plan to ride WEB SLINGERS.

Snow White's Enchanted Wish now open

Snow White's ride has been around for a long time but recently it went through some updates and changes. Formerly known as Snow White's Scary Adventure, Snow White's Enchanted Wish brings more magic and a happy ending to the ride. Lines have been fairly long for this ride so be prepared to wait to see the changes.

Mom Tip

Sometimes having someone else help plan your vacation is amazing. I love to price vacations and have purchased a couple trips through Get Away Today. They are not a sponsor, just a company I fully believe in. They called us before one of our trips to make sure we were okay and ask if we had any questions. They are very helpful. Their social media and website are always full of the most up to date information on the parks. Check them out. You can book at a Disney Resort Hotel through them or at one of the Good Neighbor Hotels. They are happy to walk you through everything you need to do. They even have a price adjustment policy that says if there is a discount that pops up after you have purchased that would apply to your trip, they will refund that portion. Feel free to let them know we sent you!

I have more updates I can give... are you interested in more information? I follow Disney Parks news fairly closely and love to help others make their vacations magical. Let me know what type of information you want and I'd be happy to make more Disney Parks articles.
