Don't fall into a summer slump!
Keep your kids reading over the summer, and let them have fun at the same time. The summer reading programs are starting soon. I will be on the lookout for different programs and will post them below. Also, I will include sites with fun reading activities for kids.
Maricopa County Reads Summer Reading Program | Register online at https://maricopacountyreads.org/ or visit your local library to pick up a game board. 1 minute of reading = 1 point. Everything is online this year. Get a free book and other coupons when you reach point milestones. |
Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program | Students 1-6 grade: Read 8 books this summer and record them in your summer reading journal. Click link to reading log HERE. Copy in Spanish Take your completed journal to your local Barnes and Noble in July or August. You will get to take home a free book from those listed on the back of the journal. |
Half Price Books | Kids 15 and under read 15 minutes a day. The program is going online this year. Check back soon for reading logs. See the WEBSITE. |
Chuck E Cheese | There are actually many different chart options to use year round but there is specifically one for reading rewards. Just print out the chart in ENGLISH or SPANISH, complete the 2 weeks of reading and bring the chart to Chuck E Cheese for 10 free tokens. WEBSITE |
Pizza Hut Book-It Website | This site does not actually have a program to earn prizes but they provide great book recommendations and activities to do after reading them. Visit the site HERE to subscribe to their emails. |
